Xara grammar notes

Xara is an inflected language, using regular case and verb endings:

Verbs are constructed using the stem (which also acts the infinitive) and a personal suffix, preceded by a tense indicator and sometimes also preceded by a mood indicator:

na	Future

The mood indicator 'si' has many uses, e.g.:

• to show continuous action
• with verbs in relative clauses
• in conjunction with certain constructions

Because of the inflections, word order is fairly flexible, although the usual pattern is subject-(adjective)-object-verb-(adverb). There are no definite and indefinite articles.

'The Time Of The Opening Of The Sky'

Not everything was complete. The wild pig had not yet come to that place; something had possibly taken it away. The plants would not grow near the mountains. But stone did not cut like sword and the dragonlike claws did not stab them. So the children played happily, and the withering plants grew again, because the sky was indeed clear.
